The President's Perch
October 2009
Archive

Here we are entering into Fall and very quickly followed by Winter. We don’t have the weather people do who live “outside” so now is the time to ensure our feathered companions are safe, warm and secure in their living environment; usually the entire house.

This is also the time of the year when we seek nominations for positions on the TABC board. All Board positions run for one year and each seat needs to be filled. Nominations for all seats are requested. Get your nominations to Amy Benefield at 441-2699 or email: southerninak@yahoo.com

We are still looking for volunteers with time available to become director of the Adopt-A-Bird Program. This person needs Microsoft Office with word and excel. Volunteer hours vary.

We still need an editor for the newsletter. This volunteer position requires a cash outlay every month. Reimbursement comes from the treasurer or president. Also, be prepared to spend about 25 hours a month getting the newsletter ready to go to print and get it distributed.

We are looking forward to another terrific Holiday gathering in December where we hope to continue the tradition of the Chinese Gift Exchange. It is almost as much fun to lose track of the gifts being exchanged as it is to exchange them with unwilling participants. Turkey and all the fixings will be provided by TABC so we need some side dishes and beverages. In the past we have had chocolate fountains and drink fountains. If you have either of these items and wish to bring them with you so we can enjoy some insanely delicious and decedent deserts, please do so.

We will know who our officers for the upcoming year will be by this meeting, so come help us celebrate and meet the outgoing and incoming officers for your TABC board.

Our Seminar is right around the corner. Bring donations for the fund raising tables with you either to Wasilla or Anchorage. There will be Silent Auction items at both seminars. If you have Silent Auction items for the Valley please call Cindy Welbourne. If you have Silent Auction items for Anchorage please call Amy Benefield. If you have questions, please call and ask. Hope to see you and all your friends at either or both seminars. Be prepared for a wonderful time.
