Lost a Bird?

If your bird flew the coop, call 351-2762 immediately!

Try to get someone to stay with the bird. If the bird can see or hear you, it may stay in the area. If the bird cannot see or hear you, he might fly farther away to find you. Do not assume your bird will come home by themselves or fly to an open cage. Pet birds don't know what your house or neighborhood looks like from the air, and they often don't know to fly downwards (in fact, their instinct is go higher into a tree for safety)!

It takes a team to get them back, so please call us right away, even if you aren't sure where your bird is, and we'll try to help you. Our Lost/Found Rescue Team has nets, ropes, binoculars, and other equipment available to help locate your bird and bring it home.

After you call, please download and fill out our "Lost Bird" form. Select the format that best suits your needs and either e-mail it to akbirdclub@yahoo.com or mail it to The Alaska Bird Club, PO Box 101825, Anchorage, Alaska, 99510.
